Psalm 118 reimagined

  1. Be thankful to the Lord for he / she is kind-hearted.  He / she is never going to stop loving us.
  1. Let the Church reiterate, “He / she is never going to stop loving us.”
  2. Let the leaders of the church reiterate, “He / she is never going to stop loving us.”
  3. Let all who respect the Lord reiterate, “He / she is never going to stop loving us.”
  1. I cried to the Lord in pain and he / she heard me and answered by releasing me.  
  2. The Lord is on my side so I do not have to be afraid of what life and people can do to me.
  3. The Lord is definitely on my side and he / she will stand with me.  I will be confident when facing those who are against me.
  4. It is better to be under the Lord’s protection than to look for help from friends.

  1. I was overwhelmed by crises, but I found my way through with the Lord’s guidance and power.

  3. Some problems were small irritations like flies buzzing round my face, but others were like an all-consuming fire burning out of control.  I found my way through with the Lord’s guidance and power.

  8. The Lord has given me his / her life and I will proclaim what the Lord has done for me.
  9. I should have been separated from the Lord, but he / she has forgiven me, and I will be with him / her forever.
  1. The Lord has given me his / her presence and Spirit and my heart jumps with joy and thanks.
  2. Through the Lord’s cross I am given new life and brought into his / her presence.
  3. Thank you for answering my cries for help and putting me back on my feet.
  1. The candidate rejected at interview for the entry level has become the chief executive.
  2. This is the Lord’s work and it takes our breath away.
  3. The Lord has given us this day and we will be happy in all that it brings.
  4. Please rescue us Lord from going the wrong way and guide us into your path of life.
  5. Let us give thanks and encouragement to the person the Lord has chosen.  The whole church will praise the Lord.
  6. Like a homely light on a dark night, the Lord looks over us with love and kindness.  Let us commit our whole lives to him / her.
  7. I will acclaim you, my God.  You are my Creator and I will applaud you.
