Psalm 146 reimagined

  1. Acclaim the Lord.

I will acknowledge the Lord with my whole being.

  1. I will sing the praises of my Lord for all my days.  I will speak highly of my Creator for as long as I have breath.
  1. Don’t organise your life by copying celebrities – they cannot give real advice and support.
  2. One day, they too will be forgotten, and all their philosophies and regimes will be worthless.
  3. But those who rely on their Father will find real fulfillment, for all their confidence is in the Lord their Creator.
  4. He / she made everything – the things we can see and the things we cannot see.  When he / she gives his / her word, he / she will stick to it for all time.
  5. The Lord stands with those we neglect – he / she gives justice to the mistreated, food to the hungry and freedom to those who are captive.
  6. The Lord restores the sight of those who cannot see.  He / she lifts to their feet, those who have stumbled with the weight of the world on their shoulders.  He / she loves those who aim to be like him / her.
  7. The Lord has the back of those who are immigrants.  He / she cares for those with no family or partners.  He / she puts a spanner in the works of those who oppress the needy.
  1. The Lord will be the leader of leaders for all time.  All you who follow him / her in every generation, acknowledge him / her as your Creator.

Acclaim the Lord.
